ADCO has no openings at the moment. Hey, give us a break. We just filled up the building with superlative people from PeriodThree when we created ADCO Interactive.

But if we were hiring, what would we be looking for? Well, that would depend on the position, wouldn't it?

But in general, you'd need to be:
  • Smart
  • Talented
  • Creative
  • Hard-working
  • Unconventional
OK, that last one's optional, but it would probably help you a lot with fitting in.

How unconventional? Well, take a look at ADCO's latest hire: It's Brad Warthen, previously known as South Carolina's most famous, most prestigious unemployed newspaperman.

He fit the bill. He was smart, talented, creative and hardworking - as well as edgy, courageous, knowledgeable, strong, thrifty, brave, reverent and given to stringing together modifiers to absurdity and beyond. Check out his blog; he'll tell you all about it: bradwarthen.com.

One drawback, though: He had exactly zero experience in advertising, marketing or public relations. So of course we made him our director of communications/public relations. How's that working out? You might want to get back to us later. But we have high hopes.

So we live outside the box. We take chances, when they look like a good bet. Maybe we'll take a chance on you sometime - when we have an opening.
